Talk about make-up and hair. Pretty straight forward. If you're a beginner to applying cosmetics, we can talk about it! Don't know what to do with your hair? In this thread, let's ask questions, lend advice, and discuss.

Are the maids allowed to have nail color since we handle food?
Is there a guideline in nail color?

Is there going to be a mirror at the venue for us to touch up?

And that makes me also wonder...do we have restrooms in the cafe?

Maids are allowed to have nail color and art, as long as it is not long or big enough to obstruct or cause a concern when serving food. No dangly charms may be on your nails, and be sure that it does not chip easily-- otherwise, it is fine.

The cafe is on the convention floor on the Hilton side, and is very close to the public washrooms. Smile

I have a question: My hair is usually always short. And by that I mean it's usually a very spunky pixi cut. Is that type of hair style allowed? Also, I know no crazy colors for the hair are wanted, and I have some pink as some streaks and under my bangs as well as some under one side of my hair. Would that be too much color?

I can show a picture if you need that to tell.

Hmm, it should be fine, though it depends. Go ahead and send me a photo. If it doesn't work, you have the option of wearing a wig if you're comfortable with that.

Alright, I'll try and get a picture sometime today. Maybe before I leave for class.
And I'd prefer NOT to have a wig, due to they itch and I've tried to go an entire con with one on. It was torture Hahaha! But if my hair is truly not suitable I will use one.
I have a pink pigtailed-type one, though again, it's a bright pink.

I never realized I was so obsessed with pink before hahaha~
Ill post a picture of the wig as well.

Haha, again, I'm sure it'll be fine. ^^

And don't worry about your obsession with pink. If you've seen how I've designed this forum, the website, and our upcoming IRC channel... you could see that I am too. XD

Is it okay if we wear a little bit of eyeshadow? I know we're supposed to do a natural look, but I was wondering if we can wear lightbrown-brown shades. I also have this gold/bronze pearl shadow that I wanna wear. I can make it look very natural with a hint of color!!

I can also post pics if a visual is needed.

Yup! Light make-up is perfectly fine. By "natural make-up", it doesn't necessarily have to emulate a make-up-less look. Light make-up, subtle eyeshadow, totally fine.

As long as it isn't bright and vibrant, dark, or overall overly-conspicuous, it's fine. Smile

Can we have several looks? Like...I wear contacts and glasses, depending on my mood. So I was wondering if I could go back and forth between them...Like...if I come to help while it's not my shift and I have glasses when earlier I didn't...or something like that.

That's totally ok! I don't think anyone will make a big deal out of it anyways. We had some people rotating wigs throughout the weekend!

I would just like to say I spit my drink all over the screen, and have a dopey amused grin right now.
Nice to see the moe, polite, docile maid attitude be broken up a bit, with some perviness shining through.
Makes me feel better ^.^;

Yeah you have to get a eyelash glue (daiso has them for pretty cheap)

I have a question about falsies, Are you okay with us wearing them as long as they look natural (dont plan on going gaga here)

LOL! I am assuming you haven't been in the IRC channel yet...

As for false eyelashes... I wear them everyday! It's very easy, but having decent lashes is very important. I do not recommend the ones that come in the plain pink boxes at Daiso, because they are not durable and do not adhere in an attractive way. Glue is also very important.

I recommend getting the $2-3 lashes in pa brand that you can get at Ichiban Kan, Mitsuwa, and Marukai. Daiso may have them, but I'm not sure. This includes lashes and glue. They're good quality, and significantly cheaper than professional ones. I can wear a single pair for an entire week straight.

Do it do it!
